Assam's tea gardens have witnessed a significant transformation with the introduction of clean drinking water, now accessible to 86% of households. Chief Minister Sarma announced this milestone, achieved under the Jal Jeevan Mission, which aims to enhance the quality of life for tea garden communities. This initiative is expected to greatly improve health conditions and reduce the prevalence of waterborne diseases in these areas. During his announcement, CM Sarma reiterated the government’s dedication to ensuring that every household in the tea gardens will soon have access to safe drinking water, aiming for complete coverage in the near future.
