A sad event occurred on the Silchar-Imphal National Highway, particularly in the Lalang area of Cachar, under the jurisdiction of the Lakhipur Police Station. A young motorcyclist tragically lost their life in a collision with a passenger cruiser, deeply affecting the community.
This morning, at approximately 10:30 am, a passenger cruiser, registered as AS11DC 5426, collided with a Bajaj Pulsar 150 motorcycle, registered as AS11G 3475. The cruiser was traveling from Fulertal to Silchar when the unfortunate incident happened. According to reports, the collision caused both the motorcycle and its rider to be propelled beneath the cruiser. Eyewitnesses reported that the cruiser dragged the motorcycle along the road for several meters before finally stopping.
Quickly, people nearby who saw what happened rushed to help. They knew how serious it was. They worked together to carefully get Abdul Aziz, a 21-year-old from Lalang Part 1, out from under the heavy cruiser. Aziz was hurt badly, so their main goal was to get him to Emmanuel Hospital in Pailapool as fast as possible for medical help.

Despite the best efforts of the medical team upon Aziz's hospital arrival, his injuries were too severe, and he tragically succumbed shortly thereafter.
The driver of the cruiser fled the accident scene, compounding the tragedy. Promptly, officers from Lakhipur Police Station arrived, securing the area and arranging for the vehicles' removal for investigation.
Currently, arrangements are in progress to transfer Aziz's body to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for additional examination. This devastating incident serves as a poignant reminder of the perils of the road and underscores the critical need for safe driving practices.
