"Hailakandi District Prepares for Free and Fair Polling with Tight Security and Efficient Distribution of Election Materials"


Booth workers from 602 booths in two assembly constituencies in Hailakandi district, under the Karimganj Lok Sabha constituency, reached their destinations on Thursday afternoon under tight security. This marked the district administration's readiness for polling to begin on Friday morning.


Staff from 602 centers in Hailakandi district, carrying polling materials including EVMs and VVPATs, left from the premises of Hailakandi Govt. VM Higher Secondary School. The District Commissioner, Nisarg Hibre, oversaw the entire distribution of voting materials at the school premises.


Under the supervision of various district administration officials, the materials, including EVMs and VVPATs, were distributed efficiently. By evening, most of the voting workers arrived safely at their assigned centers.


The district is fully prepared for free, fair, and peaceful polling on Friday. District Magistrates, Zonal Officers, Sector Officers, and micro observers have been assigned to conduct the Lok Sabha elections in a fair and peaceful manner.


In anticipation of the April 26 Lok Sabha elections, District Commissioner Nisarg Hibre announced a paid holiday in Hailakandi district. Webcasting has been set up to monitor the voting process at 332 polling stations out of the total 602 in the district on Friday.


The Election Commission and the district administration will monitor the voting process at 332 polling booths on the day of polling. Voters without photo voter ID cards can use alternative acceptable photo ID cards for voting.


A dry day has been declared from April 24th to 5:00 pm on April 26th to ensure a free and peaceful election in Hailakandi district. A dry day has also been declared until 5:00 pm on April 27th across the entire district.


An election control room has been set up at the VM Higher Secondary School campus to ensure neutral and peaceful elections. The control room can be contacted for any election-related matter.


District Commissioner Nisarg Hibre has requested the cooperation of residents to conduct smooth polling in the district and emphasized the importance of each voter exercising their right to vote at their respective polling stations.


The Hailakandi district administration is determined to conduct a fair election. All election cells, police, and paramilitary forces are actively working to ensure a smooth electoral process.
