"Special Trains Launched from Guwahati to Sambalpur and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Amid Summer Rush"


In response to the surging demand for travel during the summer rush, two sets of special trains have been commissioned to operate from Guwahati. These trains aim to facilitate travel between Guwahati and Sambalpur in Odisha, as well as Guwahati and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra in Jammu & Kashmir. Both services will undertake 10 round trips in each direction, offering a range of accommodations including AC 3-tier, Sleeper Class, and General Seating coaches to cater to passenger preferences.


The first special service, train no. 08351 departing from Sambalpur at 18:50 hours every Monday from April 22nd to June 24th, 2024, will arrive in Guwahati at 01:20 hours on Wednesday. Its return journey, train no. 08352, will leave Guwahati at 08:00 hours every Wednesday from April 24th to June 26th, 2024, arriving in Sambalpur at 16:15 hours the following day. This service will traverse via Kamakhya, New Bongaigaon, New Alipurduar Jn., New Jalpaiguri, and other notable stops.


The second special service, train no. 04680 departing from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 21:30 hours every Friday from April 26th to June 28th, 2024, will reach Guwahati at 19:10 hours on Sunday. Its return counterpart, train no. 04679, will depart from Guwahati at 23:20 hours every Monday from April 29th to July 1st, 2024, arriving at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 20:45 hours on Wednesday. This service will pass through Kamakhya, Goalpara Town, New Bongaigaon, and other stations.


Additionally, a special train, numbered 06221/06222, is operational between Mysuru and Muzaffarpur for 08 trips each, departing from Mysuru every Monday starting from April 15th, 2024, and from Muzaffarpur every Thursday starting from April 18th, 2024. This service will include stops at Jolarpettai, Vijaywada Jn., Palasa, and other key locations.
